SP likely to form govt in Uttar Pradesh

So the day is finally here when the fortunes of many will be decided. Exit polls say that it is the end of road for Mayawati in Uttar Pradesh, but some parties have rejected the exit poll results as whimsical and unreal.

Today’s result will also determine BJP’s identity as a national party as in last year’s assembly poll they fared pretty badly. We will also come to know if Rahul Gandhi’s magic works for the congress and if his yatras in UP will pay off.

To know all this and more stay tuned for our live coverage on the results:

1:35 pm:
The Bharatiya Janata Party said the Uttar Pradesh election results would cast a shadow on the Congress-led central government as the Samajwadi Party (SP) had emerged strongly in the state.

"SP emerging independently in Uttar Pradesh is a bad sign for the Congress, it will spell a shadow on the central government," Rudy said.
