Teen arrested following two unprovoked attacks on Metro Vancouver buses

LANGLEY, B.C. - Coast Mountain bus drivers and passengers in Surrey and Langley can relax following the arrest of man suspected in two recent, apparently random attacks in Metro Vancouver.
Langley RCMP Cpl. Holly Marks says a 19-year-old Surrey man was arrested early this morning, just hours after investigators picked him out of surveillance footage.
The suspect, who is known to police, is expected to appear in court later today to face possible assault charges.
The first attack occurred in Surrey at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 18, when a driver was choked by a man who had just been asked to move back from the front dash of the bus while it was moving.
The second incident occurred Tuesday just before 5 p.m. when a 41-year-old passenger was stabbed in the back as he got off a bus in Langley at the same time as the suspect.
Police say the second attack was also unprovoked and victims from both incidents are expected to recover.
